I've been into this project over a year now( started 2016)
I purchased a 2002 Chevrolet avalanche 5.3 long block with 80k kms.
I stripped it down to the short block and sent it to the machine shop to get it bored out to LS1 spec. 3.898 in bore
I had forged flat mahle pistons with reliefs, and eagle H beam rods put in for my relatively high rpm build(7500).
I had chosen a comp cam 285LR-HR13 installed.
For intake and heads I have purchased a set of 52mm Jenvey ITBs, and stage 2.5 5.3L PRC heads with double springs set to run at 11.5:1 static compression and .660 lift.
Holley HP EFI for engine controls, full heating and AC amenities, power steering, 1-3/4" Long Tube headers, dual 3" exhaust, 3.91 rear end gears and TR6060 transmission.
What are your thoughts on this build? What kind of power so you think this will make? I have no plans of boosting this.
It'll be a while for me to save up more funds to continue this build.
