Default Critique my build

So my ls1 max effort build took a dump.
I have a full mamo top end to go along with the new set up, probably not the best options but it's gonna have to do for now
Future plans
Texas speed 408 with compression around 11.1
Mamo 220 heads,
Johnson lifters
Ati balancer Mamo spec
Mamo ported msd atomic
Nw 102 tb
All this running through a t56 and a mwc 9"
I'm a bit undecided on the cam itself
What would be a good choice ?
Looking for a street/strip more or less

Have you done any research on cams? What kind of power are you trying to get? How do you want it to sound?

A buddy of mine has a 408 and runs TFS 220 heads, 244/248 113+4 cam, Fast 102, 1 7/8" headers, etc...he made 500 rwhp and like 490 rwtq. So you don't need that big of a cam in that 408 to make 500 hp

500whp should not be a goal for a 408 these days. More like a mistake. 550+ should be the goal.

What et/trap you trying to run?

You've made an A+ choice on going with mamo heads! That said, call Tony and ask his advice on a cam that will do what you want, and to match HIS heads.

I used his AFR heads in the past, and wanted a stealth like cam, favoring torque. Tony hooked me up with the perfect daily driver cam for what I wanted.

Yea if I get more than 500 I wouldn't complain one bit lol but I know big limiting factor might be the heads

I want to get into the 10s or low 11s

I'm eventually going to 235s, wouldn't hurt to ask if these can be hogged out a bit more

This is easy. Sale those heads and your intake. Buy some gmpp ls3 heads and a fast mid runner intake. Cam it to spin to 7500-7800 and profit.

Running 10s will nit be a issue. You might even put some cash back in your pocket.

OP
check out Dyno results P2 MMS 223 Sportsmen Heads 416"
made 528rwhp/515lb' with 237/244 114+2.
your 220 heads are more exhaust efficient
something like 239/245 114+3 should put
you over 500 rwhp with all the fixins,
true duals, ewp, efficient driveline.
would make a very nice street/strip combo.

LS3 combos can/will make more, its only money LOL,
how much power do you want or need?

Those heads will get you there just not as much top end HP in the upper limits VS a larger port, But more TQ & you have a good intake (BTW you don't need to go out and buy another set of heads have the ones you got worked over for around $1k). As Navy Blue said, a cam from around 237 to 247 on the intake side @ .050 and you've got 500rwhp EASY with a T56 trans now with a auto it robs the #'s your looking for. I'll say it once again call a good CAM manufacturer or Vendor and they can reference you a cam from other builds that made the HP # and ET your looking for. 220 cc can be opened up to 235 or 237 add a slightly larger intake valve to go with this.
