Question Anyone have used the Pro Maxx CNC 227 Heads?

Hello, I came across a used set of Pro Maxx LS CNC 227 heads. I know this company bought Patriot Performance. Now I have been searching for information of people who have used them but can not find any info.

Is anyone here who have been used them and have experience with the Pro Maxx LS heads?
Thanks

In the link you can see their prices. Looks like a good deal but looks like no one have been using them.
For me is the first time to that hear of them. But even Summit and Jegs sells them.

I was curious how much the used set that you mentioned was going for. Reason I ask is because if they similar in price to say a good used set of ported 243's, then maybe you should consider that route. Unless it's a smoking deal I'd probably shy away from something that is so unknown. Might be a good reason for that

ProMaxx used to be Patriot Performance which used to be Alabama Cylinder head if I recall correctly.

Well the link says they are GM castings, so somebody just did their work to them and are selling them. And they have the casting Triangle under the
spark plug hole like the 243's so FWIW.
Yeah the history is all in that link you provided. No guess work here

Well the guy is asking me $800 for the set with only dyno time in them.I have a set of 243s that I plan to send the to do porting job.
My logic was for $800 a set of heads with 2.02/1.57 SS valves 300cfm@.600 lift is not bad with 64cc. If buy them and them sale my 243s with .650 double valve springs for like $500. That mean that my out of pocket is only $300.
Now if send my 243s to TSP for 2.5 stage porting job is $1000 with no springs only head and valves.

Yes I know the history of the company. I stated in my original post. What I like to see are real testimonies of results from people who used this Pro Maxx heads. I never know if they modified the CNC program or have a mayor changes from Patriot because I heard from people that used Patriot last productions heads and they said the quality was to bad..

Yesterday I went to take a look to the heads. For my surprise they are new casting not a GM casting. They looked good , Is a probability that I buy them to experiment in my car. If I buy them I going to have pictures for you guys.

Do you have pics of the heads you looked at......... In the link you posted it's says they are GM castings and they want a core return.

He sent me this pics

. For me was strange to because I expected to see GM casting but no. They are a different casting than GM. I’m thinking in gable with them and use them to see what can happen with a polluter v3 cam in a factory 5.7 short block.

I’ve seen them around on SBCs, seem like a decent value. If it was me, I would swap out the springs and hardware they come with. I honestly haven’t heard of failures, but it seems like cheap insurance to get quality hardware to keep the valves from kissing your pistons.

Yes I thought the same. I have a set of BTR spring kit and is what I expect to use. I already made my mind and I going to buy them Tomorrow. I think it worth the risk for $800 in a near new set.

They are known in the SBC world as a great budget head. For $800, I'd buy them.

What makes you think that those are not GM castings, do you have better pics , the rocker arm stand area and side view of the exhaust ports . ProMaxx never used a aftermarket casting for these shocker LS2 227
