Need some Oil Priming Lifter Advise

Just got done oil priming the engine through the oil galley on the drivers side behind the alternator, pushed 5 quarts through it twice and i still have 3 lifters that i can take a screwdriver and push on them and i get them to move quite a bit, should they all be pumped up by now or do you think there is a problem with those 3 lifters, they are GM 88958689 Caddie lifters. specs on the motor are ls1 out to 3.905 with forged wiseco`s with -2.2 cc relief`s, TEA CNC heads with the bigger valves , milled to 62cc, deck milled .005 with .045 cometic head gaskets. all clevite bearings and ARP rod bolts, ARP head bolts, trickflow ls2 timing chain with the guide kit , Comp Camp 5/16 push rods 7.350, BTR stage 3 cam, 231/242, .617-.593 lift on a 112, Sac City barbell and oil filter bypass delete. ls6 intake with 85 mm throttle body, 1-7/8 kooks headers with a hooker blackheart true dual set up. , lots of work on the 4L60E and a 3600 stall. 373 gears. Probably missed a few things on the spec list, just dont want to make a mistake on this one, any help is greatly appreciated,

Never primed one I just made sure the cam and lifters got bathed in a mixture of synthetic oil and Permatex Ultra Slick assembly lube and fired it up. You could submerge the lifter in oil and push in on the plunger to try and pump them up or let them soak to get all the air out of them.

Start it and run it. May have to hold idle up to 2k or so to pump lifters up faster if they are being stubborn

This. The last time I replaced the lifters ( this summer) I didn't soak them in oil. I dropped them in and poured oil on top of them. These motors start right up.

Soaking them for an hour is OK, but do not pump them, it can hang a valve. Start the motor and let the lifter adjust gradually as the motor heats up and you'll be OK.

Do not use those lifters with dual springs or heavy valves.

Honestly though, why use a $300 set of lifters when there are better quality for much less? And have less documented issues?

Thanks for all the advise from everyone, the motor is all together just sitting on the engine stand, are the lifters that bad ? should i replace them now, and what kind of issues have they had cause i do have dual valve springs, thanks.

are you turning the engine over by hand while you are priming it?

Yes , I had my breaker bar on the crank and tried to keep it moving, then i drained the oil and did it again.

I have basically an exact replica of your motor down the cam specs only difference is heads. If u could post up any numbers whether its dyno or track times when u get them I would love to be able to see the power difference in yours with better heads and mine with shitty heads all things else being equal same bore same piston cam etc

What I've also done was disconnect the fuel pump relay and also the harness to the coil packs. Turn the motor over several times to build some oil pressure then hook everything back up and fired it up!
