Lq4 turbo main and crank bearing clearances?

I知 pretty much limbo on my turbo build right now. As I keep progressing in this build I知 learning new things about what I would need to keep this engine happy with the 78/75 turbo that痴 gonna go on it.

I need to order the whole bearing kit for the rotating assembly, I was just about to order the standard sized bearings for my lq4 but I read somewhere that I値l need a different size for proper oiling?? I値l be running a melding 295 oil pump btw. The supplier of the bearings offers standard, 010. 020. And 030. Sizes.

Would i be good with a set of standard bearings or would I need something a little different.

The only way to know for sure is to check. I ised King bearings in my past rebuild and they came out to over .002” for the mains and rods. Depending on the power level you’re after, you may need more.

The best thing to do is get the .010” under bearings, install hem and torque the bolts, then have the bearing ID checked with a dial bore gauge, subtract the clearance you want, and have the crank ground to that number. So if your .010” under bearings have an ID of 2.5488” and you want .003” clearance, you have the crank ground to 2.5458”.

King Bearings = OK

Hi Javi, I supply King Bearings, STANDARD Mains @ .002"

I fit King "race" bearings for the Rods @ .0032"-.0035"

Hey Lance, thanks for the reply, I called earlier today but didint get an answer. I was gonna call back but got a little busy and forgot lol. Anyway, I知 not sure what size I need but I know the car is gonna be pushed to 5,6,maybe 700hp, no more than that. I don稚 have any special tools to measure my crank journals but I can probably use some plasti gauge to get somewhat of a measurement. If you can, let me know how I would go about choosing the right bearings thanks!
