Default 416 with wegner heads needs truck cam options

Just finished the block and all I need is a cam. I can read about cams for another week and still not know **** compared to what real builders know. My setup is 4x4 avalanche with 2500 stall at the moment on a 4l80 with 4.10 gearing. Motor is fully forged 416 with 4.1 stroke. 10.1 compression with wegner 243 cnc nascar speced heads and prw shaft roller rockers. Intake is tbss with decapped injectors. Long tubes dual 3inch exhaust. Was looking at 54-459-11 com cam 231/239, Lift .617/.624, but looks like its higher than most cams guys are running. Com cams suggested an even higher cam! Truck is a daily driver and pulls weight around. I feel like I should be looking at a different cam.

If you're going to mention a cam, put the specs up here too. We don't know part #'s by heart.
On a truck as big/heavy as an Avalanche, you don't want any kind of radical cam, especially if towing is part of the plan. Stay conservative.

You should call TSP or Cam Motion and get a custom spec cam.

I would look at the comp xer273. There are better lobes now but that 224/230 would be a good match

Regardless of cam, there should be power to gain by having the TBSS intake properly ported. The 416 will be very air hungry. Probably the ideal engine for a Fast LSXRT intake.

The Cam details for the Comp Cams suggested 54-419-11. The springs Comp suggested for this cam have 470 pounds of pressure. That's fine for many aftermarket lifters but I wouldn't want to run that much spring (470) on an LS7 lifter.

The trusty old 224/230 XER below. The XER per Comp can use a spring with 405 pounds of pressure which would be OK with an LS7 lifter.

Are those Wegner K&N pro series heads with Del West titanium valves?

Not the same combo but I'm going to run the same 231/239 cam in my 11.7 Compression 403. Saab Aero (TBSS), Mamo Ported LSXRT, Those TFS CNC 225's Helicoil had listed, Precision 245 Triple, AWD, 4.10s. Lighter weigh vehicle but not light by any means. PM me a cell if you want and I can send you an idle video of that same part number in my brother's 408.

In your application, I would step down as mentioned especially if you are rolling any kind of tire height. Aero/TBSS set up is about 30" plus over all weight over a 1000 lighter than yours.
