Default So, who wants to take a stab at a cam for this LS swapped shitbox?

Here are the specs on the car:

Stock LS1, down to the intake.
1 7/8 inch swap headers.
Single 3 inch exhaust (which will likely be changed to dual exhaust)
3300 as raced weight, which will go down to roughly 3200 as I ran full weight.
TCI Streetfighter with anti-balloon plate, logs showed roughly 3200 flash at the hit.
60E.
3.55 gears.
26 inch tire.

I have a FAST 78 and ported TB that is going on and a Nitrous Outlet 78mm plate kit. I am planning on spraying 100-150. I can't decide if I am going to go cam only, or do some ported stock castings. I am thinking of doing some ported 706s to get the compression up, or even a set of stock 706s, which I have. I don't want a huge cam, I want something that will work with the combo and will be friendly with the small shot. My goals for this car are to put it in the 10's reliably and have a car I can drive an hour and a half to the track and back.

Car ran 12.2 @ 109 yesterday with a 1.72 60 foot.

Streetsweeper ht. Small cam by today's standards but makes great power and will work fine with the bottle. Off topic, but I wonder how much you might pick up with a better converter.

Well, this car was built on a budget and not by me. I am sure the 60E will crap out at some point, and then I can re-visit the converter. It is not a bad converter, but if it stalled a little higher it would certainly get the car out of the hole faster. Of course, so will a 150 shot. LOL.

Isn't that a bit aggressive? I only have 3.55 gears and the converter is stalling at around 3200.

I have the Titan 2 and think it will work well for what you've got. It pulls to 7k and will drive like stock.

For your goals and applications with 3.55:1 Gears, another vote for the Titan 2

LS1X3 looks like a good cam with a broad power range. Been looking at it myself.

Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions.

In the end I contacted an old friend, Martin Smallwood, and had him come up with some ideas for a custom cam, of which one I am having ground right now by Cam Motion. I wanted something stealthy, that would drive close to stock and not sound much different than stock. We will see how it shakes out. I am head shopping now.

Yeah, Martin is a good guy who knows his stuff. He really thought through this cam and I think what he came up with will be great and well matched to the rest.
