408 vs 5.3 with boost daily?

I would not boost the 408 with a small turbo. That's not a fun combo.
I would do the 5.3L and a 7675 with a cam. It would make 800rwhp all day and be very easy to drive around. Plus with a boost controller, you can turn it down for daily driving. And up for track days.
And you can make 800HP with the LS7 architecture. But your 10k budget won't get you there. Hell, with a 468 + LS7... you can make 750 to the tire on pump gas.

Run that search again for the aluminum Gen-IV engines and you will see what I'm talking about. The Gen-III 5.3's are cheaper, but they won't hold the 800hp that the OP is wanting. I know the Gen-IV motors will hold 800hp, but it takes some boost to get there. I've never seen an N/A LS motor with anywhere near 800hp.
