Default My Cam Only LS6 Project - Pic Heavy

So basically i was on a mission with my bolt-on only ls6 powered 99 z28 to hit 10.50s or better but that came to a hault a couple weeks ago on my way to work when i heard a loud chirping noise coming from under the hood (i hate ls7 lifters). Long story short i pulled the motor apart and found two bad rollers and two cam lobes wiped out. I could of went with another ls6 cam and continued on my quest but after a lot of thinking i decided to go with something close to max effort. I dont want to disclose what i went with it but drivability was on my agenda so with that being said i could have gone bigger. So now the new quest is to see how quick this car will go cam only. My plans are to get the race weight down to 30XX lbs from 3270 previously and to do a couple more bolt ons i havent got to yet. Anyways here are pics from the project. I just got the cam out today, tomorrow i will start putting it back together.

No head work. The new compression ratio will be like 10.6/10.7, i had the heads cut to 62cc. Bought cometic .030s but not going to run them, going with stock mls instead.

Yes. It went 10.8 @ 125 with the stock ls6 cam, hoping to pickup a few mph/ et with the cam upgrade.

PAC1211X springs, yella terra 1.8 rrs, lift was like .585 with the ls6 cam and 1.8s. Rev limiter is at 7200 i shift it at 68-6900. Now .660 tsp/pac springs, going back to 1.7 rockers

I'm just massively confused with how it's going 10.8s at 125 when a stock one doesn't get near that lol.

Spill the beans. Got a build thread?

Wasnt saying you are not running 10's, just wanted to know the whole setup. I guess ls6 are just that much better than ls1's. I was blown away when I raced a c5z at the track and it trapped 120 or 118 out of no where it seemed. but he only went low 12's. Game of traction I guess, that rear end makes or breaks the engine getting power safely to the ground. And actually Mavns build proved it can happen with the right converter, but you both still have upgraded rear ends to get the most of it.

Notice the race weight? Stock Fbodys with driver are significantly heavier. It's basically a max effort "stock" long block.
