Shop mess up my heads? Not an LS but sbc forums are slow and this will apply to either anyways. Took my afr 210s to a shop to have them cleaned, surfaced and a vic jr port matched. Well they port matched the intake and heads to the gasket. They did not go all the way into the throat, just about halfway into the intake path. They didnt screw up my heads right? I heard port matching to the gasket wasnt always a good thing but they didnt go all the way in. Wasnt what I asked for but they did it. Thanks.

Gasket matching shouldn't hurt your AFR heads. Somewhere in the port is the pushrod pichpoint and maybe that's what they tried to hit. Usually that is not touched because it's a small restriction like gasket matching is addressing a small restriction.

When you get the heads back on, gaskets in place, and the intake sitting in place, put a couple bolts in finger tight, and look see.
Single planes are nice because you can see how well the manifold aligns with ports. A bore scope really helps.
Usually, and of course it depends, the manifolds are cast with smaller runner exits than the intake opening in head.
