Default Time for my car to return to a real street cruiser

Some may remember my blue Trans am getting a 427. It's ran 10.26 @132 1.36 60 ft. At 3800lbs.

That whole combination went to a 2001 trans am that had a cage already and it will be more of a track car.
my blue 2000 Trans am was purchased new with a t56 and over the years i swapped it to a 4l80 as well.

Now that the whole combination went to red car, including my 12 bolt rear end, its time to put my blue car back to a street cruising fun car.

I picked up an aluminum 6.0 with 821 heads that needed a rebuild. I pulled the heads to find a dropped valve so I ordered some summit 4cc flat tops 4.030 bore and had it refreshed using gen 4 rods with arp bolts. Heads got freshen up w9ith all new ls3 hollow stem valves on intake and new gm exhaust valves. Valve job and bowl blending really woke the heads up I'll post flow sheets on them tomorrow.

Cam was chosen by Darth on here, it's a cam motion titan 3 ls3 cam. 227/237 .621/.604 113.5+4
. Heads are milled to 63. 5 cc and .041 felpro gaskets bring it up to 11.35 compression with a .036 quench.
. Intake will be an ls3 factory intake with rod mods done and mild porting. 92mm tb
.
I just placed an order with Tick(I believe they are still a sponsor) for a close ratio t56 magnum f and a monster twin disk lt-sk with lightened billet 20lb flywheel. And the 13/16 bore tick master.

Exhaust, I already had speed engineering true dual exhaust so I went With 1" 7/8 speed engineering headers so it mate's up right. I've heard they were thinner than the tsp and kooks so I may get them ceramic coated.
Rear end went to the red car so i got a deal on a qtp 9" with 3.70 gears and a spool. That's in the blue car now but going to go 4.56 gear and a tru-trac posi unit.

My red car is now tuned by holley terminator x and it runs perfect so I ordered a terminator x for this car also. I already had a current performance piggyback harness to use so my dash works correctly. Made sense to use holley so the tune is flawless and doesn't surge.

I'm hoping to update this thread as parts arrive and I get things done.

That's her 12 years ago in full street trim on a 315x35x17Nitto 555r . How I plan to run it with new set up.

That run was at 3750 lbs and 452rwhp. Car now has tubular kmember and a arms, bumper supports and strange racing brakes on all 4 corners. Fab 9 is lighter than my 12 bolt was. That pass was an iron 6.0. This new one is aluminum.
. Hopefully around 500rwhp and about 300 lbs less should go in 10s in street trim

I went to one tick recommended. The lt1 pressure plate is light plus the lightened flywheel he said it will be a light set up.

Indeed. It’s Tonys new Mantic ceramic twin. You can get the clutch with organic plates as well if anyone is interested. Drives really well. I just went with a new Tick adjustable master last weekend in the same car, my sons ‘03 Z06. Factory master took a dump.
I like what your doing here Chad. Blow the dust off that car and drive it!

iron block lq4 with 241 heads that had a valve job with 2.02 intake stock exhaust valves. Mild porting on intake side to blend in the valves and ported exhaust. They didn't flow big numbers but they got a car moving and made good power. With an f14 cam
edit. Fast 90 intake and throttle body

IDK about 500 rwhp with a manual..... I'm thinking it may want a cam in the 230's range min. A baseline c6 Ls3 vette with slightly milled WCCH ported heads made 515 i believe. Cam was in the 239 range. Google WCCH ported Ls3 heads. Many of you know the link. Same basic engine with a Hair smaller bore which shouldn't make much of a difference in terms of hp.

AINT SKEERED, couple of detail questions.

What rockers and lifters are you going to run?
Crank scrapper?

Thanks

I was directly involved with a LS3 making 510 rwhp with a 226/236 cam, NA, GPI ported LS3 heads, FAST 102 Intake, manual transmission. Only real "trick" was the use of 2126 short travel lifters.

mine is very similar to this. Using a rod mod ls3 intake makes about same power as a fast 102 , cam 1 deg bigger intake and exh , short travel lifters also I'll be on e85. Phil was on pump 93 wasn't he?

I'm not chasing a dyno number. I just mean it will be in the in the upper 400s and the car will be lighter since I've done many upgrades to it that saved weight over the years without taking away comforts. If it made the same 452 it did with the old 241 heads that only flowed 259 cfm (75cfm less than new heads) ,just the weight saved alone I'd be damn close to the 10s . So what ever it makes it makes.

One thing that made me decide to pull the 427 out of this car is my wife hated the fuel smell. after getting that engine tuned in my red car with holley there is no more fuel smell so thats why I'm going holley on the blue car also. But also we (Darths idea ) chose this cam. I want it to drive good and no fuel smell but also. Make good power. What it makes it makes.
