Default 1251 LS7 camshaft specs Different for the Z28

I bought a cheap camshaft and degreed it for fun for you guys because I ended up buying a Nintendo switch and a Traxxas Stampede for Christmas and I didn't have enough left in my Xmas budget to get myself a summit 5/4 cam so I got This one for $70 bucks instead and I'm glad I did. It's pretty neat. it was listed as a "LS7 Z28 ZO6 camshaft".

The cam came perfectly packaged for a very reasonable price. Clearly from a speed shop that had done at the very least a cam swap on an LS7. Many here or more knowledgeable than me on the stock cams, but this one is a little odd to me because it doesn't have the little barcodey reader thingy on it and the specs are slightly different than what you see advertised for the ls7.

I've seen the same variance with the 1721 cam having a slightly different intake lobe for the car and truck versions, especially @ 0.006" the intake valve closure.
My buest guess is that this camshaft is from a 14" or 15" Z28 vs the Corvette version. The thing is in great shape though looks like it only has a few miles on it so I went ahead and took a look at it and here's what I found

Before you nitpick the valve events I found remember I love my ocd and I used the same timing set that puts an 02' 1721 cam on a 117° ICL so basically what you'd get if you threw it in your average LS1 with a stock timing set. This cam, well at least not this version of it is as bad as many of you want to think it is, especially if your intake flows well and or your exhaust sucks. I would choose it over Quite a few of the other popular smaller cams If it fit the bill. Of course there are "better cams" I don't want to hear it but somebody in California or somebody that cares about fuel mileage that still wants to put something together with some real compression and a nice set of heads could have a lot of their cake without having to eat all of it. The lobes are of course incredibly gentle so they are easily safe to 7100+rpm with the standard LS6 spring and a 1.7 rocker. Just use a 7.450" pushrod if everything else is stock.

Lobe lift .326" int .324" exh
@0.006" 265°/ 292° 121.8 LSA
@0.050" it's 207°/ 232° 121.3 LSA
128.5° ICL @0.006" 35° overlap
122.5° ICL @ 0.050" -23.1° overlap

installed this way you get these events @ 0.050"
-19° ivo
46° ivc
56° evo
-4° evc

This is interesting to me so I thought I would share. Have fun with your winter builds dudes
