Default MTI R1 cam thoughts...

I just picked up a full exhaust setup (dynatech headers, ORY & Borla) and a R1 232/236 .575 .578 114 Lsa MTI camshaft. I got a deal on everything and this is the direction i wanted to take my car, yet just a tad more aggressive which is fine because i'm sure i can grow into it

What kind of heads should i be looking for to compliment this cam and would it be pretty benefical to pick up a ls6 or f.a.s.t intake manifold?

MTI stage 2E heads are worth looking into. They provide plenty of power, use the highest quality parts and are very reasonably priced. According to what I've seen, I'd stick with a LS6. Heads/cam pkgs don't seem to gain much if any from a LSX intake. You may want to wait and see how the LS2 intakes perform. If you can wait that long.

I'm not sure how long before the LS2 intakes are widely available, since I believe they are only found on the new C6 currently. My guess would be 6-8 months.

well thats in my projected time. i plan on finishing the strengthening before i install the exhaust system cam and headers. That will give me plenty of time to find a good welder for my cage, get my rearend strengthened, and get my tranny built up.

Thanks for your help.
