Default Oily intake, heads/intake runners and valves..

The pics that I'm including are of my heads and intake.

The car has been blowing blue smoke. I was pretty sure that it was because I didn't seal the rocker bolts..

Now I'm almost certain that I have bad valve seals also, and I definitely need a catch can..

What do you guys think?

I had a fair amount of oil in my intake, which is not a surprise on an LS1. Blue smoke is another issue.

That is a lot of oil in the intake. My car started using oil after I installed a cam. And I'm about to replace the heads, so I expect to find a similar situation. Tho I am not blowing blue smoke. That usually indicates your rings are going south. Which would also give you a ton of blow-by that would make for lots of oil coming thru the PCV to the intake.

Is there a link or something explaining blowby? I know one of the reasons the heads had oil in them...

But I shouldn't be having blowby issues.. the car only has 35k.

Blowby: inside the cylinder, gas and air are mixed together. Spark ignites it. When the fuel/air mixture ignites, it expands. This pushes the piston down and makes power. Blowby is when some of the expanding gasses go right by the piston rings. This will pressurize the bottom of the motor. To fix this, we have Positive Crankcase Ventilation - PCV valve. Make sense?

If you didn't seal the rocker bolts, that's most definitely where some/if not all the problem lies.

Bingo...

Just waiting for all the pieces to get here so that I can get the car back together.

I hoping that the Crane dual spring remover makes things alot easier.
