Will manley valves in a stock ported heads yield any real cfm increase? Or is it just a good way to waste $180?

If you are buying valves go ahead and get 2.02/1.6-1.57. Some grades of stainless is not compatible with iron guides so double check that.

Damn Bo, it took you what 25 seconds to answer that one. HA. I dont want to have to change out the seats though. I was just looking at low cost ways to increase flow. Do you have to change out the steel seats to accomodate stainless valves?

I ran 2.02/1.6 Ferrea valves in a stock 5.3 head one time with no problems. I just happened across your post when you posted it lol.

Forgive my ignorance, but I thought when you upgraded the valve size you had to upgrade the seat size as well. Shows what I know.

Yes but it's possible to cut stock seats for 2.02/1.57 valves. Not sure about 1.6

The way it read above is that Bo ran 2.02/1.6 valves in an uncut seat. Thats what I was referring too. No doubt you would bleed compression, right?

I had the machine shop I use cut the stock seats for the bigger valve. All I was saying is the stock seat can handle a 2.02/1.6 set up but no bigger.
