I'm with that as long as they are not mls and are less than .045 compressed.

Call texas speed a sponsor on this board they sell and install this gasket and will verify
the specs for you.

I called them it is .054 compressed.

Goddammit, if anybody knows of a thinner graphite/composite please chime in. Are all you guys running cometics with no problems. Is anybody running cometics with even a slight imperfection (indention, peice of gasket, scratch, anything...) without a problem. I mean I have seen vendors state that they are "difficult"

I cannot believe that every darn LS1 composite gasket is stock thickness but I have looked everywhere.

Anyway.....

Well I called the felpro tech line and talked to Hank,He says felpro does not release that spec since its a stock replacement gasket not a performance gasket. After much
haggling and browbeating he said I could aproximate the compressed thickness by measuring the gasket behind the fire ring and subtract .005.I did manage to get him to
tell me that 9284pt is not a mls gasket.I hope this clears up any confusion on this matter but I doubt it will. What a bunch of **** they won't tell you the size of their product.

Jesus....seriously.
I'll toss some pics up of the "damage" on another thread. I work with an engineer that thinks I can get by w/ an MLS (flashed the pick) and "probably not have to worry".
He's built a few engines plus I appreciate the valient effort z-ya. I should clarify that I called Texas Speed and not Felpro. What a crock.

I called texas speed first that is where I originally got the information about the gasket being .043 compressed. I passed this along without verifying the dimention personally, for this I am truely sorry. We had a conversation about their constuction
and dimentions and I am not mistaken about what was said. They still may be .043
compressed for all I know but felpro won't verify that. This will be the last time I repeat
something without proof.Cometics are to damn expensive for a gasket or this wouldn't
be such an issue,

Is there something wrong with that website? I wanted to take a look, but it keeps popping up that there is nothing available for any vehicle I choose.

I've called all over and that number is incorrect. Perhaps if we were bitching about flow numbers or "whats the best header" a vendor would have gladly stepped in and cleared this up by now after 300 sum views since it is a very strait forward question. But not for a $15 part it seems. Hey these parts matter too.

Anyway.....

Why can't you 'fill'/repair the dent and then smooth it off? That's worked for me in the past and if the damage isn't near any fluids then you won't have a problem.
