I Looked At Both The Edelbrock And Afr Heads At Sema. The Edelbrocks Were Quite A Bit Behind As Far As Looking Like A Quality Piece. One Of The Reps There Said There Are Designed Around Midly Modified Cars. I Wouldnt Look For Any Insane Power Jumps Over The Ported Heads Out Now. On The Otehr Hand The 225 Afr's Looked Killer!

Screw those heads they have been flashing that info forever. The guy at SEMA told me "around summer" (In his defense he was not the on-site expert). The head was there so where was the dyno ? I would not be surprised if AFR set too high of a bar for them and they had to go back into r&d. I mean the LS6 head is a damn good head to begin with anyway. It took a like 6 years to get one non-stock casting on the market. The image in the Trick Flow brochure is their LS head in development so thats on the way too. I just hope the prices get realistic in the near future. Us LS guys are getting fleeced right now.
I like the smalled chamber on the edelbrock (63cc).

I was hoping someone took pictures of the Edelbrocks at Sema. All i want to see is more manufacturers jump on the LSX engines and drop the prices DOWN!

Like said above i was also at sema and looked at there heads and didnt impress me. After looking at afr heads that would be the only head to consider. If afr are out of peoples budget then i would just run some hand ported stockers or save your money.

They will be CNC'd by Linginfelter. The new Edelbrock product flyer (PDF page 4) shows a parcel picture of the port and tells a little info about heads. 65 cc combustion chambers.

edelbrock usually makes mild but high quality stuff though, at least it seems that way to me. Also Dart has their LS-1 heads in the works and will be relaesing them sometime.

FWIW the heads I'm using now cost more than the AFR's -$2400 plus core-read the sig. So the Edelbrocks look like crap eh? That's surprising. I wish Chevy got it right the during those 10 years (1993-2003). If they would of fixed the f-bod ( Damn converter hump!)then GM could of sold just as many F-bods as mustangs and heads would only cost $1500, blowers only $3500 and cams only $225-Damn Chevy execs! SUVS and PICKUPS-I hope Toyota lays some slap to them when the new 500hpHybrid Toyota Supra comes out. How can they overlook the ponycar market-I mean they have the new Colbalt( )I guess we dount count anymore!

Who told you Dart is releasing an LSX head? I'll check with them at PRI next month. That would be kickass though

Dart and maybe trickflow-things are looking good. I'm actually glad that AFR set the bar so high-now if they could only meet demand!

Default Etp G-3

We will hae our new ETP G-3 cylinder head at the PRI Show. I don't know if Dart is doing one or not, I asked them, It still sounded like speculation. Our new casting will be a new step in a new direction for the Gen 3, we will try to make the pricing right as well, no promises yet, There is a lot of cost that goes into a project like this. All I can say is that issues that have not been addressed yet by the other company's have been corrected. Not to mention, there are two versions, the second will take the place of the C5R, for half the price. Along with that, an EFI manifold to fit our C5R version. For the people going to PRI, we will be in Section A booth 6003, 6005, 6007, 6009. We will also be displaying our new Dodge Viper head as well.

I'll be stopping by at PRI to check out those new c5r replacement heads. Sounds like the right direction to have a manifold to go with it allready!
