Question YACQ (yet another cam question)...

Before I ask my question, please trust me that I have done every search imaginable. I have used search until I thought the board owners were going to send Guito to my house for over using it.....

Anyway, do any of the sponsors make/have a comp grind that is 216/216 112 on an XER lobe?

Not that i know of but you could get that as a custom order.
Why do you want such a baby duration on race lobes anyway?

I am looking to make very good torque down low as a fun aspect of driving the car. Corporate life insurance prohibits me from driving at the track - no way to get around it.

the car used to be a daily driver, but I bought a new Monte in August and drive the SS on weekends only.

I would like as much torque "under the curve" from 1500 - 4500 as I can. To me, that makes for a "fun" driving car around town. Given everything I have read, the shorter durations couple with a narrower LSA and aggresive lobes gives me the combination I would like. True???

Check VHP>>> VINCI>>> sponsor

Accelerated lift cams, I think those will fit you to a T.
047 or 055 cam

the VHP 047 would fit what you are looking for. http://www.vincihighperformance.com/...%20LS1%202.htm

Definitely...

I have the 047 in my truck. It's tame/soft under 1,500 or so, but fully "wakes up" by 1,900 or so. There is an abundance of smooth clean (SOTP) power to 6K.

It sounds great when you "get on the cam". It's a lot of fun to play in that lower RPM area. Throttle responce is great. It's very torquey down low. With just the cam, tuning, cat back and drop-in filter, my 5,400lb sled cut a 2.13 60'. I don't THINK that's too shabby.
