Patriot Performance LS6 Style Heads I've decided on Patriot Performance Stage II LS6 style heads, but I have a question...What is the differance between the four different stage II heads? I've used the search, but I couldn't find an answer...Thanks, Ryan Assy. 2.02"/1.57"/59cc - $1,395.00 pair Assy. 2.02"/1.57"/64cc - $1,395.00 pair Assy. 2.055"/1.57"/59cc - $1,395.00 pair Assy. 2.055"/1.57"/64cc - $1,395.00 pair |
Notice: 59cc and 64cc chambers....(different chambers) Notice: 2.02/1.57 vs 2.055/1.57 intake/exchaust valves.... You'll probably gonna be fine with 2.02/1.57 valves.....depending what kind of power you're gonna make....For ~420rwhp it will be fine.... |
I would go with 2.055/1.57 valves and get their upgraded Ferrera/Manley valve option. |
Smaller CC will net you more CR and more power. Depending on your cam you might want bigger valves. But in choosing a head look at the midlift flow #'s .200, .250, .300, .400 High flow in those areas is where the power is at. |
I was looking at either 231/237, 233/239, or 237/242...so I would want 2.055"/1.57"/64cc correct? |
You would have to find out about your PTV (piston to valve) clearance to decide. TSp 233 or T-rex will work with stock heads without fly cutting the pistons for clearance. I think the 231/237 should clear with 2.055"/1.57"/64cc but you better call TSP to find out for sure. |
Their heads are welded for the extra compression right? Not milled? I would clay regardless to be sure. |
I have PP II LS6 heads and you will need to fly cut your pistons to go with those cams. Maybe not the 231/237 I'm not sure but the others you will. |
Relatively simple to check P/V, take the time to do it |

I wouldn't necessarily jump head-first into a valve 'upgrade'...Call the valve manufacturers, and Patriot, and ask for the grade of their standard stainless LS1 valves. The valves I know of that are supplied with the 'upgraded' option, I believe, are a lesser quality stainless than Patriot's valves. If I recall correctly, other than their's, they only offer Rev valves (the 'upgrade'). But don't quote me on that one. You'd have to call Gunnar. Chris, PP does weld their chambers before the CNC process to get their chamber sizes. They are supplied at factory deck height unless otherwise requested. |
Our valves are 23-8N stainless, the REV valves you can substitute for $100.00 more are 21-4N stainless. |
hey man right now speed inc is running a special on those heads for like a $100 less, they are a distributor if pp so they the same heads for $100 less. check it out in the sponsor special section o and the 59 cc will raise your cr to about 11 |
