Question LQ4,LQ9 what is different? Pistons, heads?

I want to know if there is a cyl. head comb. chamber volume difference and is piston different? In other words how is the compression changed between these two 6.0 motors? TIA

My 6.0 short block has very slight piston dish, is that LQ4? Does LQ9 have true flat top like LS1 5.7?

Correct, the LQ4 has a very slight dish piston to lower the compression. The LQ9 is a true flat top.

Thanks, Jason. So both motors have identical 317 castings? Also i was reviewing your flow sheets on 6.0 head vs. LS6 castings and saw 6.0 flow higher till about .400" lift. Does the 6.0 open chamber head flow better max ported vs. LS6max ported? Seems like it would, curious if you can answer this?
TIA

The 317 castings are the same on both motors. The difference in compression ratio is taken care of with the pistons.

From what I have seen, a max ported 6.0l vs. max ported LS6: they share very similar low/mid lift #s (6.0l slightly better), but the LS6 still flows better up top (past .600+). These differences could be just due to the head porter/port shape, though.
