I had the X1 put in in August '04 at MTI. I haven't put a lot of miles on the car since (under the cover in the garage for winter), however prior to putting it away, I was still having difficulty with it idling after warm starts. It will come up to +/- 1200 rpm, then drop off like it wants to find idle (950-1000 rpm) but just continue to drop off and stall. I've had to keep a little pedal on it to +/- 1500 rpm, give it a few seconds, then it will drop to idle and be fine. This was tuned at MTI as well. On cold starts, it surges for 10-15 seconds, but then finds idle and holds it.
It has a nice lope to it (hopefully enhanced by dual Street Pro cutouts that are on the way) and drivability seems just fine to me. It does pull hard and FWIW, I picked up 35 rwhp.
