I bought a 232 234 .595 .598 112lsa cam and was wondering if i should wait until after the power tour to swap it, what kind of gas milage should i expect, what kind of wear and tear will it create if any, i will be doing the long haul. the motor will be stock except the cam. i have a gm hot cam in it now

Go for it since you already have the Hot Cam in there...Your choice, the gas milage will be about the same.

Change those springs when you put the cam in or you'll be on the side of the road. Other than that you are good to go. As far as gas mileage goes...just listen to that lope at idle and you won't care about mileage.

If you have enough time to heat cycle the springs and get the PCM tuned, I say go for it. If you don't have the time...then you should probably wait.

Good call on heat cycling those springs. Some people say you don't need to do it but it damn sure can't hurt anything. I do it and swear by it.

Theres a reason its called the "POWER TOUR", and not the "Moderate acceleration thanks to a mild cam tour". However, Im in no positions to criticize, as Im still running my stock cam but if i were in your position, Id be breaking in those new springs on the trip.
