Default Camshaft parts question..

I was looking at LS1speed.com website since they are having a special on their Comp and Lunati cams for $339. And, I was wondering which Comp cam/Lunati will give me good drivability, with power of course, since this car is currently my daily driver for at least a few months. I was actually more interested at a "mild" cam, since again, this is my daily driver.

Here are the specs I was looking at:

Cam Duration Lift LSA
int. exh. int. exh.
SI1 222 222 .563 .563 114
SI2 224 224 .581 .581 112
SI3 224 224 .581 .581 114
SI4 224 228 .581 .588 114

Lunati 224
Lift: .560/.560 Dur@.050: 224/224 LSA: 112

I was actually looking at the SI3 but I think that it might be a little heavy for daily driving. Also, that Lunati 224 seems very similar to the TR224. Doesn't seem like a bad deal for the Lunati 224........right??

Thanks!

Personally i think all those cam's look fine for a daily drive, although the smaller you go the less lope is going to have therefore making it easier to manage and such.. 224/224 is a good all around choice in my opinion

If I go with either the Comp Cam Si2 or Si3 would I need to replace the springs, rockers, etc? Or can it be a swap of the cam with a tune and I'm ready to go???

I would at least change the springs. You can use the stock rockers.

You need to swap the cam and the springs. You can get most kits with springs and retainers and most people go ahead and swap pushrods at the time as well. A 224/224 114 shouldn't bother you at all daily driving with a tune......that's not very big.
