I'm not sure about down in the US, but up here in Canada we get only two German versions. they are the 0w30 which I ran in my H/C set up and a 5w40. In the Toronto F Body club we have a member than has studied various oils almost to a doctorate level. He swears by the 0w30 and now uses it in his C5. Also known as Patman on the boards.
As for the Valvoline, I used to use it and one thing about it that seemed good was that the oil looked so clean, even after 1500 miles of hard driving. I had dealership mechanics questioning me what I used since the motor was so clean (pushrods ) I still use it in my wifes Vibe GT.
Anyway, as far as I know the only import Castrol is the 0w30 and 5w40, it says on the back imported from Germany or Belgium.
