Default Help with my new 383 storker.

I need some advice on building my stroker for my new sandrail. I am going with the Eagle crank & rods. I was originally going to go with AFR heads, but my builder says he can get some decent heads ported locally. I told him I would like to use 6.0 heads, due to the bigger displacement.

He is trying to talk me into the truck manifold, I am leaning towards the LS6 manifold. What cam would work well with this? I am wanting to get apporox. 550 HP @ the flywheel. Is this going to be possible? What combo do you guys recomment for a 2000 lb sandrail, that spends a lot of time in the upper RPM's, but at the same time I like torque for duning in the big bowls?

Let me know if this is

The truck manifold was designed to make lots of torque for the big heavy trucks. If you're looking for high RPM power the LS6 manifold is the only way to go.

I think on the bigger displacement going with a FAST 90 setup would be a good idea as well. Would help on your quest for 550@rw.

I am going to use the LS6 intake, any ideas on a cam? I will be running straight headers, should I use an aggresive reverse split cam?

go to rapidmotorsports.com and talk to mikey.
I made 480rwhp and 440twtq on 92 octane
Rapid LS1 stage 2 heads.

He can hook up with AFR 225 and 500rwhp...

Go with the Fast intake and throttle body. The big cubes will love it.

Go with a big standard split.

I used an slp lid, stock MAF, SLP bellows, stock TB, LS6 manifold, and TEA heads on my 383. My combo only put down 439.something rwhp. Respectable, but low for a 383. Now that I'm working the tune out, it's obvious that I'm not getting enough air into motor. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the FAST 90/90 set up, GM 85mm maf, and 85mm lid.

What cam did you use with your combo?
