Stock Retainer's

I've been running my TR227 with 918's & stock retainers for about 6months no problem's. I shift around 6800, and I know titanium retainer would help.

But has anyone had a problem running the stock retainer's that high of a rpm?

I must of made 30 passes since the cam install. Just added an LS6 intake & ZO6 maf (with tables), car fells better than ever..

Thanks
Bill

I uhhh...ran mine to about 6600 once. I changed my mind and won't be doing that again. Too high, I wouldn't trust them. I backed my limiter back down to 6400.

I just talked to Comp's tech line. He advised the only reason they recommend the titanium retainer's is for weight. I shouldn't have a problem with breaking the stock retainer but might get some vlv float at the higher rpm. Also they said the 918's are good to 7000-7200, but with lift above .580 they recommend there dual's.
