What lift are they good for?

.600" if installed at 1.850"

cam I have now is over .600 :devil:

TEA installed 978s on my heads I forget what the installed height was ,but they said the springs were good for .650 lift.I'm running .605/.616 lift.

thats what i thought also... i remember them telling me I wouldnt have to worry about lift on my cam untill i got well over .600 with their springs

my cam now is borderline... very borderline but I think they will hold me fine :drive:

Yeah they are good to .650" if you install them at 1.900" but, that only gives you 107#'s on the seat for spring pressure.

I just got a set of AFR/TEA heads that HAD 978's on them. TEA set them up after doing the port work, but when I checked the springs they were set up at 1.750. This means that my .600 lift cam would coil bind before it reached .600 lift. I also had 160# of seat pressure on a hydraulic roller cam. I had to get a new set of springs, retainers, locks, and locators that would work with my heads. The 978s are great springs, but I can't use them with my heads due to lack of installed height. They are for sale if anyone needs and can use them. If I were you, I would check the installed height of your springs.

I will be taking them to Tin Shed.... they will be taking care of all that for me. :D

I bought a set of TEA heads from TIM@EAD with 978 springs He said they were set up for a .635 lift cam :eyes: :ripped: It turned out I had .025 till coil bind which meant they were set up to comp spec's of 1.850. SSOOO I also have a set of 978's for sale never used with the trimmings. They are great springs but not really for cams over .600 ask TEA they will tell you the same thing. Just dont ask that bullshit artist Tim@EAD :mad:
