Yeah they are good to .650" if you install them at 1.900" but, that only gives you 107#'s on the seat for spring pressure. |
Comp 978's I just got a set of AFR/TEA heads that HAD 978's on them. TEA set them up after doing the port work, but when I checked the springs they were set up at 1.750. This means that my .600 lift cam would coil bind before it reached .600 lift. I also had 160# of seat pressure on a hydraulic roller cam. I had to get a new set of springs, retainers, locks, and locators that would work with my heads. The 978s are great springs, but I can't use them with my heads due to lack of installed height. They are for sale if anyone needs and can use them. If I were you, I would check the installed height of your springs. |

I bought a set of TEA heads from TIM@EAD with 978 springs He said they were set up for a .635 lift cam :eyes: :ripped: It turned out I had .025 till coil bind which meant they were set up to comp spec's of 1.850. SSOOO I also have a set of 978's for sale never used with the trimmings. They are great springs but not really for cams over .600 ask TEA they will tell you the same thing. Just dont ask that bullshit artist Tim@EAD  |
