By the way at least you guys have a track we do all ***** racing on the street at the light or on the freeway if you want to go at a roll.Let my driveing record be a proof to this I will take shity track over the **** I had paid for tickets.

05 GTs are $26k + $3k to $5k markup. The Rousch is more money on top of that.

What the **** is going on why is their so many GM guys that defend ponys ponys ars for girls I have never sind by going it a ford site but I am shure the dont back up GM that much now I know for sure this **** is coming to a end soon.

I am a former mustang guy(still own it) and i can say for sure that the ls1 is the target and the enemy but also gets every ounce of due respect from all of the real car guys over there...

I beat a 03 cobra at bristol speed way.The guy told me he had headers,chip and 14psi boost. At the time I had a cam .522 int/.529exh and a 100 shot dry/a4/no stall or tune. Both of us on street tires,mine kummo.The first time I didnt spray and barely won,I had alot better reaction time. The second race we had the same reation time, same 60 ft and I had to spray his *** when I was about 75 mph. Hell of a nice guy and the best race I ever had.

"Better" can be defined in a lot of different ways.
Stock HP - Cobra
Max Effort HP - LS1 (I think, haven't read up on max effort 4.6's)
Modability (stock internals)- Cobra
Efficiency - LS1
Power/Weight - LS1
Power/Size - LS1
Cost - LS1
HP/Liter - nobody cares but ricers

They installed cheaper pistons to help save cost and also put teflon coating on the to reduce piston slap on cold start ups and help on movement. Also why is it in 03 they built over 13,000 but in 04 they only built over 6,000 and alot of them sat on the lots and the dealerships had a hell of a time getting rid of them.
Also note: It went in for 2 axle replacements, throw out bearing, new rack and pinion and then the motor. Then I sold it.
also I never ran any slicks or drag radials either.
Just keep watching they will keep having problems. Even some of the early models ligtnings are having problems with blowing out the spark plugs.

even a procharger on a stock ls1 is going to eat a stock blown cobra motor.. sorry.. even at 4-5psi.. hell, the 310hp ls1 will run about the same 1/4 mile as the heavy *** cobra motor lol.. but i imagine u could get 390 and then some out of 5-6psi on a stock ls1.. the bottom end on the cobra is better.. but the price difference is there too.. and who wants to buy a heavy, irs, expensive 4.6 liter, when they could save 10 grand and get a lighter, more drag racing inspired fbody, that with a few boltons becomes a cobra killer, especially if one of them is a lil n2o.

See I do not understand this. All of you say that the cobra will beat a ls1 stock for stock. Well With only tires and and no horsepower mods I was able to beat a stock 03 by half a car. With headers and exhaust and gears on a hevily modded 04 (pulley, different intake, exhaust, headers i pulled him by 3 cars. All on video. I do not see how the cobra even with a blower would be superior in any way.

blah, the chevy ford debate...
IMO from the factory the 4.6 comes well equipped and will make more power cheaper and more reliable then a LS1
but then again it has 4 cams???
hell I respect anything thats fast and I love LS1's, I love GM power but the 03/04 Cobra engine wise is a league ahead in making serious power..
factory with 42lb injectors, forged pistons, nice crank .. etc...
Now 5.0's are a whole different story...
I'll throw money that they will hold up better then the LS1 will in 10years from now and the HCI 5.0s only running mid 12's? hm somebody needs to venture out of these forums....
