What's going on with my car ???!!!!???

So before i did the 03 ls6 cam swap i was pretty satisfied with the times i was running. My times were 12.0 - 12.2 with a 1.77 - 1.82 60' @ 117.5 - 118 MPH with an 85 shot and stock cam and all the other mods in my sig. N/A i was doing 12.7 / 12.9 109 - 110 MPH. Again this was with a stock cam + the mods in my sig.

Now i'm testing out the new cam (03 LS6 Cam) and same mods in my sig. My times N/A are 13.1 - 13.4 with a 2.0 - 2.1 60' @ 107 - 109 MPH. On a 85 shot i run 12.7 being Best @ 112.7MPH.

What is going on with my car? Why is it running like crap? I changed the fuel filter about 7k miles ago (possibly alittle less). New NGK TR 6 plugs. Stock gap. The car almost has 30k miles. I'm all out of ideas. Anyone wanna input on whats going on?

Sounds like you need a tune.

raise your rev limiter and use that cam where it was meant to be used above 6000
thats where it makes more than your previous cam.also maybe you have some knock retard from something?

You need a tune. Tuning is rather complex. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Or try the computers/tuning/etc section. You might be able to pull/post your cars info and get someobody to point you in the right direction.

That much i have done. I've raised the rev limiter to 6500 RPM's.

I have alittle KR driving around N/A Very rarely. On Nitrous i dont have KR at all.

What else do i look for?

I belive I sold my cutout to you, could it be that your running at LACR which has a higher elevation than fontana?

Yes i have the cutout open...

Yes you did sell me that cutout.. Its working great sounds pretty good.

I dont think the elevation has that much to do with it. There is no way i lost .7 tenths of a second..
Right now with an 85 shot i only gain .4 tenths of a second. Also my MPH before was 117mph. Now my MPH on N20 is 112.

im not for sure but i think the stock 03 ls6 pushrods are still to short for the ls1 head
maybe someone can clarify this?

are shifting at the same RPM?,don't you need to shift higher with the LS6 cam?

blkZ28spt Mar 6, 2005 10:22 PM

He already covered that, is shifting at 6500 rpm. ;)

What would happen if i loaded a stock 2002 Z06 .bin file into my 2002 Camaro SS. What would my car do? Will it do better since i have the z06 cam? or will it do worst since some settings are different?
