Forged Piston's

This might sound stupid but I was wondering if it's possible to put in a set piston's without doing anything else to the block. Like machine work or what not. Say forged piston's and ARP rod bolts?

The answer is no. !!!! I just finished a stock Mahle piston to a Forged Mahle piston last week. A stock (M) piston weighs 434 grams and a forged (M) piston is 382 grams . That is 14.86 ozs that has to be removed off of the crank bobs. I had my whole assembly balanced and they drilled the crank bobs to offset the weight difference.

There are ppl that have done it, not sure on their success or problems. s far as balancing it out, the factory crank probably needed to be balanced anyway, I dont see why you take off crank weight due to piston weight changing, unless the stock rotating assemble was off balance.
