Default opinions on stroked 427? 4.030 bore, 4.125 stroke

hey guys i am looking into future options with my car and this is on of them that comes to mind. i understand that the side load on the pistons to the cylinders will be worse, but is it bad enought to avoid running it? i noticed that the new cobra that came out(i know two different setup and everything) has a larger than 4.125 stroke and a much smaller than 4.030 bore...

Anyways if anyone has any reason to aviod this setup please let me know
Thanks

It would be less side load than a 382 stroker and tons of people use that combo. Hell some put the 4.125 on the 3.905 bore. It should do fine in a 4.030 bore with no problems.

...really...this for some reason interests me for a nice street car
probobly cant be that much more expensive than a 408 or something comparable.

Any more info would be great.

Thanks beast96z

also does anyone know if eagle still makes their 4.100 stroke crank?

We've built a few 427 iron block setups & they've worked pretty well. I think if your wanting a good street hp & torque setup it would be a blast to drive

Eagle had problems with there 4.100 crank and I don't believe they have them out yet. My vote is for Callies. The motor should be a torque monster.

thanks for the replies guys, i thought this thread was dead...
Yeah i think a stroked 427 would have great torque, just the kind of tire blowing monster that i want to drive, because in all honesty i do want a street car, not a "street car" hell i am scared to lower it, even though the 4x4 look is killing me!
