Default TREX Driveability w/ stock gears

I posted this in the gears section but no one has answered, maybe I will have better luck here.

How driveable would the TREX be in a M6 with a stock 3.42 rear end? Has anyone done it..?

Thx,
Nate

I've been doing it for awhile now. It's fine. Definitely not anywhere near optimal for 1/4 mile times, but it's very drivable. Keep it above 1800 rpm and you're fine, no surging, etc.

why oh why do people continue to ask about cams like that without already having the proper platform for it? That cam would be slower than a gummed up bung at low rpms on stock gearing... 4.10s at the least are a must.

Thats funny, cuz I searched and coudn't find anyone with the same question as me?

I can't afford a damn rear end. I know, you'll probably tell me to save my money for a rear end first. And I probably should, maybe I will. I was just wondering in case I did happen to get the cam first. It was just a question. Chill out.

I'm chilled man... just don't want to see yet another person buy something and then wonder why it isn't working like they thought it would. Platform first, power second... that will make you the happiest.

And since you don't have a 12 bolt or 9 inch yet, I definitely suggest getting one before adding a cam of that magnitude... so if you gotta save for it, then keep on saving. You'll be happier in the long run, trust me.

M6 or A4? A4 that would be a fine gear to drive in with that size of cam...

I guess it all depends on what someone can handle... personally, I couldn't imagine driving a car with a cam even as big as mine in stop and go traffic with a grabby clutch and anything less than 4.10s. I know I would hate it... but to each their own.
