how much can a stock rod and crank hold?

99 and newer 550rwhp is about it, on the 97/98 replace the rod bolts and you should be good to 550rwhp. the stock crank will hold a little more than the stock rods but past 600rwhp a good set of forged internals is really cheap compared to the downside. I think that most people are having good luck with eagle (now but not the early stuff) and it is around $1500 for rods and crank (you can get a stroker for the same price also).
