Naw, here's what you do: put a long handled breaker bar on the bolt, and lay the handle on the front frame rail on the driver side. Or if you haven't raised the car, you can put the handle against the floor, but on the driver side. Pull the ignition fuse . . . then turn the ignition key to start for about one fulll second, and you're done. Dealer shop does it the same way.

well i pulled the starter like ls1howto.com said.. did ya'll stick the damn screwdirver or 3/8's extension in thru a hole in the flex plate where the starter drops down there.. or on the back side where that lil cover is at?
ive dropped the starter, in otherwords, i still something metal thru on of the holes around the outside of my tci flexplate, thus holding it still... then i get the biggest ******* piece of pipe i can find and throw all my 170lbs into it?

Use a 1/2" drive 24" breaker bar with the 24mm deep impact socket, you're done. If you can't do it like that, go lift some weights, then get back to the crank bolt when you're ready.

I could not get mine out after installing it with locktite. If you go to Locktite's website they will give the information on what temperature to heat it to in order to get to break loose. I heated the head of the bolt with a rosebud, let it cool a little and the bolt came right out with very little effort.

worst case scenario, since you have the starter out, go buy a flywheel locking tool. That's how I get flywheels bolted on and off when the tranny isn't attached. Same works for crank bolts

I'm not a big fan of taking alot of stuff off. Take a small pry bar and wedge it through the opening in the pulley, then get a 1/2 inch braker bar and turn. My pulley swap was so easy, I went back and re-read all the posts on it. Impact gun won't fit with work.
