Heads milled too much !!
Has anyone ever seen a set of heads milled so much that the FAST intake won't fit on? Well I have a set. LS6 stage three solid roller. Well after grinding the bosses to get the intake to to fit flush on the heads, now the injector is going to spray onto the top of the intake port! I would say their is about a 1/16" of a lip at the top of the port from the heads being milled so much! Any thoughts if it will be a problem? If the injectors were to spray straight it would be ok. But I don't know how much it will fan out. Any ideas?

you might be able to find a machine shop to mill your intake down, probably have to mill both sides and bottom also.ports would line up then if the fast intakes have enough material to mill away say.050-.060 thousandths .

I thought of that. But I hate to commit this intake to these set of heads only! Also the receiver grooves in the intakle for the orings would have to be ground also! What a mistake buying these heads! It looks like I will have to take the heads back off and grind the top of the inake port a little more to clear the injector.

Holy crap, how much were these shaved? I wouldn't do any more personally than .055 or so...... I think the Lingenfelter LS6 heads are milled about that much.

the intake shouldn't warp because with a decent fly cutter or whatever they use heat build-up shouldn't be a factor.i'm a machinist of almost 12 years but don't work on engine stuff much at all but aren't the fast intakes cast instead of forged.there shouldn't be any stress in a 3 piece type intake like the fast so heat would be the only factor.if you don't mill the intake your ports will be off some and may cause turbulence.good luck whatever you decide.

The fast are plastic.
How much were the heads milled? that seems excessive. I can measure the short bolt to deck on a stock ls6 head if you want me to. Then you can measure that head to get an idea.
