but, my SS was stolen today.

I should be recieving my heads and cam this week and now I have no car! :(

To the mods, please indulge me on this one.

sorry to hear that man, what did the insurance say? hopefully they cover the mods u had, maybe even the heads/cam that "were" on the car and u have proof of thier purchases lol.

will this mean H/C will be forsale ? :)

It just happened about 8 hours ago, I haven't talked to insurance co yet.
The heads are one offs, custom made by a macheniest gear head I know that used to own Howard's cams and is a very close friedn of Nick Arius and many other top names in racing. They are a set of 5.3s hand massaged by him and stuffed with Manley 2.02"s. We would have gone bigger, but they wouldn't clear the Futral F14 going in.

It happened in Reno NV. The cops say there's a good chance it might show up parked with an empty gas tank...I'm not so sure, the theifs also got my wallet and before we got everything shut off it looks like they tried to buy some gas at a Shell station. It had just under a half tank so if they were fillin git up they were going somwhere...but then again if they were going to just off it to a chop shop a half tank would be plenty. THe cops also said that some druggies will steal a car to get back home from Reno to Sacramento or ???

I'm still in shock, my wife and I spent hours driving around in her car looking at all the possible places we could think of.

Ouch sorry for your loss, hope you get the car back in one piece.

How was it stolen? Was it running or did you leave your keys in it to run into a gas station somewhere?

I stopped to get a bottle of water in a bad part of Reno, next thing I know I get shoved and 3 people take me by surprise, one got my attention and the other shoved me from behind. I had accidentially unlatched the rear hatch and I had gotten out to reclose it. The car was running and a girl walked from behind the car towards me. She was about 10-15 ft away so I couldn't hear what she siad, I asked "what?" As I stepped closer I noticed someone move in my perifial vision that didn't seem right, it was then that I was shoved by a 3rd and as I got up I heard my doors slam and my car took off. I tried to grab on, but only a faint touch.

For two days the criminals have been using (sometimes successful) my credit cards. THe good news is they're still in the local Reno/Sparks area. I even saw my car on a Shell gas station surveilance video last night :cry:

If they haven't left yet, they will likely abandon (nicer than DUMP) the car when they get nervous or run out of gas money. :hail:

That absolutely sucks. I hope you recover your car soon and in one piece.

best of luck man, I really feel for ya :( and thanks for the warning too, I imagine I'll think of this just about everytime I get out of my car now when on the road.
