I'd do the converter first-JMO. Much more bang for the dollar spent. What are your goals for the setup? That is a big cam for a fairly stock setup.

I also have a 9 inch but iam waiting for the 10 bolt to blow first.
The reason I am waiting on the converter is I also have a TH400 and a 3200 stall in the garage but I was going to wait till I lost a gear before putting that it.

They guy from Comp told me that it could be done and driveable but just sluggush on the bottom end.

Why wait for the 10-bolt to blow if you already have the 9"? You know people buy used parts. Plus the tow bill is not going to be cheap.

Because I still need to fabricate brackets for it, get a locker, and a couple more things like a driveshaft....

Has nobody else run a cam around this size with a stock converter?????

You can ride around in it with the cam, but it will defeat the purpose cause it won't run well. You sound like you are pretty set on doing it so why not go ahead and do it and tell us what you think.
