Default what cam should I go with for my 98 T/A?

I have an automatic 98 T/A with longtubes, full exhaust, shift kit and gears... what cam would fit my car best? or should I go with a different mod first? I am planning on gettin a 3k stall converter.

Read the cam guide sticky. Search. Search some more.

Seriously. You have to at least list your goals and tolerances. The more specific, the better.

To take the easy and proven way out without having to really go through an in depth and complicated decision making process I'd up that converter to ~3500 stall speed and get a TR224. Or maybe go a little bigger with an FM13.

Upgrade to at least an LS6 intake manifold, subframe connectors, sticky tires (ie nitto drag radials), get the converter before the cam, get a dynotune after the cam, and get a lid and some form of CAI if you don't have them already.

get the stall before the cam... if not, then you would be wasting your time unless you just want to sound quick

if you only plan on going with a 3000 stall, then you dont want a big cam.. maybe a TR220-222?

I'd get a 3200-3600stall atleast and mix that combo with a 224-230 cam

wait, get subframe connectors before you get a sticky tire. my quarterpanels are already warping and my car is almost stock. one thing is for sure when my x3 goes in next week my shitty bfg kdws's are going back on. i would rather twist my tires around than my quarterpanels.

Auto's should aways look into converter first. Do alot of searches & really think about what your goal is.

get the stall first, something in the 3000-3500 rpm range.
then get a cam.
