how much power can the ls1's handle

i have a 00 ls1 in my s10. it is turbocharged running 6 psi. i was wondering how much psi the ls1's can handle on stock internals. any help is appreciated.

sure, with forged internals.

ls1 is all aluminum, remember?
aluminum can't safely handle more than 8 psi

Sure it can, we are talking about stock internals. Below 10 psi is acceptable, as said prolly no more than 8.

yea 8 is about the limit on stock internal parts, than its forged time...

ls1 motorsports successfully ran 17 psi on a stock internal motor, stock heads, etc. motor had 123k+ miles on it and like almost 150 dyno passes and still held together. they actually pulled the motor before it blew up just to swap in a 348.

Depends on the tune

Depends on tuning, compression, and fuel.. But most guys grenade with more than 10lbs.. With 6lbs it should last for long time!

Ditto all that except the 6 part. All other factors being addressed, you can safely run 9.

s10v8, you should PM Harlan . . . he knows a thing or two about boost :D
