6500, Good redline for 918's?
 

Is 6500 a safe good rev limit for comp 918's? i've hit it a several times due to loss of traction going into 2nd, but i do let off, im currently looking into tires to help out, but is it safe to hit the limiter at 6500? Im not so much worried about the springs but the rod bolts

I had the tr224 W/918's in my old setup and was shifting @6700 with the rev limiter at 6900rpm and didn't have any problems.

kinda off topic in a way, but at what rpm's do you guys suggest to shift on a stock ls1?

What ever the stock revlimiter is. The reason for shifting at higher rpm's is because the aftermarcket cam is still making power at higher rpm's, where the stock cam will fall on its face at higher rpms.

Not true. The stock rev limiter on my GTO is 6200, i get far better results shifting at or slightly below 6000 rpm.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I've always shifted about 2-3 hundred rpm below what the rev limiter was set at. So when it was stock I was shifting where you are. I assumed he would know better than to hit the rev limiter on his shifts ;) No need to raise the revlimiter on a stock cam/valvetrain.
