ive never used adjustible rockers on LS1s, but on SBCs, and other pushrod V8s, i always use locking nuts, or the stockers... the stockers have threads cut to "lock" in place.. like a all metal nylock bolt..
lash is not a torque spec. it is an adjustment. stock, non-adjustible valvetrains like the LS1 are a TQ spec because you arnt setting the lash, you're just putting the rockers in place.. the lash is already set by the components used and machining done from the factory

If these are the Cranes, I did the 7 1/4 turns first on the big nut. Then I held the nut and tightened the allen to 12 ft-lb if I remember correctly (notes are at home). Then the last 1/4 turn (you will likely only go 1/8th turn on this part) you tighten the jamb nut and the hex nut by rotating together. They are then very tight. I did not use loctite, nor do I think either Crane or Vinci recommend its use here.
