Here's what I plan on doing...

I'm planning on upgrading my valve train to Comp R's and Crane Gold Adjustable rockers. Anyone see a problem with this combo?

Reason: My valve train is just too damn noisy and I need to quiet it. And I'm not talking about the sewing machine noise, but a serious "clack...clack...clack". It's driving me nuts.

Hopefully, these changes will cure the problem. I read the thread about the exploding R's and broken valve spring and honestly feel that might have been attributed to "something else" so I'm not worried about the quality of the R's.

Personally, I would steer clear of the Crane Rockers. For some reason, lots of people are getting funky power drop-offs with them (looks like valve float). Not sure why, but it's more than a single isolated incident. Fortified stock rockers are your best bet.

With Comp Rs, you want to make sure you nail the lifter pre-load. They have a narrower window of adjustment and require a more precise selection of pushrod length.
