I got valvetrain noise need some input PLEASE Ok, here is the run down.
I got a 99 vette (LS1) with the following new parts. Patriot Performance II heads no milling, they have PP gold springs. Patriot Performance shaft roller rockers, comps cams 7.050 push rods, Lunati "morel" lifters (.045+- preload). Geometry is good wipe in middle of valve. I have the G5X3 cam, flycut both intake and exhaust clay test shows plenty of clearance. LG longtube headers no cats.
I removed drive belts to make sure not pulleys make noise.
So what could cause the exessive noise? Only really heard between 1800rpm and 2500rpm. If this is the way its supposed to sound than I won't mess with it. Not many miles on it so it might need to break in to quite things down.
Still need to go it it tuned. Maybe they will let me know if its ok or need to pull back apart.
