Milled LS6 heads questions!
What length push rods will I need with LS6 heads that are milled .02 or .03. I have the TR 224/224 114 cam.
Isn't there a calculator out there for this?
I don't have to fly cut the pistons do I? I'll probably have Manley 2.02 and 1.57 valves btw.
When you mill the LS6 heads, what do you need to do for the intake to seat and bolt down properly? Will milling that much affect the bolt alignments?

If you haven't got them milled yet, I would reconsider that amount desired.
Run a .040 Cometic gasket and only mill .015
That way you achieve .030 mill effect but tighten your quench.
That would help reduce detonation (a plus with higher SCR) and improve your combustion efficiency. (might even add you a couple of ponies too)
Also milling your heads takes away from the flow capabilities (more mill= less flow), so you're keeping more flow that way too.
Run a .040 Cometic gasket and only mill .015
That way you achieve .030 mill effect but tighten your quench.

One thing though...I was advised by a sponser that I shouldn't run Cometic gaskets because the block would need to be machined to run them. What are your thoughts on this?
Out of curiousity, how did you come up with the .030 mill with the .015 mill and a .040 Cometic gasket? I'm just trying to learn as much as I can before I do all of this.
What size pushrod would I need if I did the .015 mill and the .040 gasket?

Same for heads.
Also you can spray some copper sealant on Cometics (helps with sealing)

Standard gasket is .054 and Cometics .040
So .054 - .040 = .014
.014 + .015 = .029 mill
What size pushrod would I need if I did the .015 mill and the .040 gasket?
You should measure preload on lifters, if too much then next size is 7.375 (Comp Cam), but 7.40 should work fine.
