My expirience with Royal Purple...
Im pleased with the results so far. I was using Mobil 1 5w30 and it wasnt bad but I had a little valvetrain noise? or at least it was making a ticking noise. Which is very common on these cars. After asking around for Oil recommendations, Alot of people said AMSOIL was a very good choice but since I didnt know where to buy it around here, I went with Royal Purple. Redline was also available but I just went with the Purple.
So, I changed my Oil and guess what, valvetrain noise is still there, Not as much, But still there. I heard AMSOIL quiets the car down but I dont know if its a litle or completely.
Im pleased, I like it. I will be trying other brands and see what I like the best. AMSOIL is next and then Redline.

Yes, I've read some reports on BITOG that RP 5W-30/10W-30 shears out of grade prematurely, but some engines have good luck with it. I'd recommend an oil analysis of the RP to see how it held up when you drain it.

You say you're pleased and that you like it. Exactly, what differences are you experiencing from the Mobile One you had in it?

I used to use Mobil 1 10W30 and it would clog up my pcv valve and always seem to run thin! I now only use Royal Purple 10W40 and my WS6 loves it! I use Royal Purple in the tranny and rear as well. Micropolishes bearings
