Default PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 'R' Ported Heads?

Any comments on PRC 5.3L Stage 2.5 'R' Ported Heads? Cheapest set of heads for only $1500. How do they perform, how much hp, the usual questions. Compare them to AFR's 225cc heads.

Would use search, but it's been down for awhile now.

Actually I should change my sig, I am going for a HPE built forged ls1 347. Same cam, FM14, but now I need to choose a set of heads to go with it. On somewhat of a budget.

The stage 2.5s should work really well for you. What size camshaft are you going to be installing with the heads? I'll see if I have any sample dyno results for you. The heads typically gain 35-40rwhp.

Talk to the TSP guys and see how far they say you can mill the heads before you run into piston to valve clearance issues. If you cant mill far enough to get the compression you want, youll need to notch the pistons, or look at a head with a smaller combustion chamber to start with such as an ls6 (243) head. I would aim for 11:1 static compression ratio, but do some research and see how high you would be comfortable going. Theres plenty of people running 11.5:1 or higher on 93 octane, although it may require tweaking your tune a bit to keep it safe.

I might as well just see what HPE recommends since I am going to be ordering a forged 347ci from them very soon. I just wanted to see if these were quality heads before I asked HPE to add them to my engine.

But keep the comments and suggestions coming!

P.S. I'll be using the FM14 cam on a 112lsa by the way.
