LS1 Hotcam Idle Tips

Anyone have any tips on getting the hotcam to idle??? I have an A4. I raised the idle control screw... but it will still drop down too far and the car will die.

I havent been able to do the idle relearn procedure yet because I cant get the revs low enough to put it in gear and raise the RPM's to 2000.

Im pretty sure you have to drill the hole in the TB bigger, not raise the idle screw....

Any idea what size?

Cause right now it feels like it's missing like a crackhead is missing teeth.

I had the same problem when I gad my hotcam installed last year. First I tried raising the idle screw and that helped a little but then I drilled the tb blade to 13/64 which helped a little and then I drilled to 15/64 and that worked for me. Have to give it about a 100 miles or so after you drill the blade to let the car learn the new idle but after the second drill no more car dying in traffic, even with the ac on.
be careful and you'll be fine.

I have been told that messing with the idle screws on A4 cars messes up more stuff than it fixes. It causes the trans to shift inconsistently and also messes with the PCM. I have Ls1edit and have tuned it out plus drilled out the tb hole. Tunning is pretty much manditory for A4 cars with cams.
