Default What did 241 heads come on? And what engine do I have?

I know these questions have been beat to death sorry.

There is an engine for sale here that came out of a 2002 vette, it has an LS6 block with 241 heads. I didn't think vettes came with 241 heads.

Now my 2002 camaro has the LS6 block with 241 heads.

Whats the difference between my engine and the vette engine?

PS I know the LS1 vs LS6 block is not much.

As far as the short block no difference really. The oil pan is different, throtle is differnet, but that's really about it. The 241 heads came on all 01 and 02 LS1 cars to my knoledge.

Thats exactly what I thought.

When the word vette is put on something it tends to have a higher price. And this is a long block for sale.
Thats why I think this engine in question is not a vette engine. But I know I could be wrong.

yup, 243's are Ls6/Ls2 heads. The z06 heads had lightweight sodium filled valves, I don't think the Ls2 heads do.

Just to add a little detail...Late model year 00's came with 241's also. I know because I have 241's in my 00 WS6.

Ditto on the cutover midyear 2000 to the 241 heads. These are semi permanent mold heads as opposed to the 853 sand cast heads, all else is the same from what i understand.

The z06 corvette with the ls6 motor (not just the block) came with 243 heads, as did any of the ls2 equipped cars.

Just restating what everyone else already said.

Sounds like it is an LS1 long block in the Vette (w/ LS6 cylinder block)...just like in your Camaro. Probably is a non-Z06 Vette right?

On the corners of the heads. youll see 241 on the corner if it is a 241 head. easily viewable with the heads installed.
