Default WTF I need valve cover gasket help!

I know this sounds pretty dumb, but i have a brand new gasket and it's like it's too big! I put it in and always end up w/ excess that won't go in the groove. Is there a way to shrink it down? Heat it up or what???

Youre probably stretching it out as you pres it into the groove. Try to compress it shorter as you put it into the groove. Im sure its eeasier said than done, but see if it helps any.

Glad it worked out for you. Its some pretty soft material and it stretches without you even realizing it.
