internal engine guys couldn't help me with this one!

alright lets see how the advanced area does :) alright on the maincaps...the bolts that go threw the sides of the block. i have 6 long ones and 4 shorter ones. i measured the holes, they all appear the same depth. anyone know the proper positions for these bolts or should they all be the same length and some how the cam cover bolts got mixed up or something? thanks.

they got mixed up..they are all the same length for the side bolster on the caps :)

do u know by any chance what the length should be? thanks for the help btw i knew something was fishy

ummm, did you do a cam swap by any chance? Because if you did, you may want to check the cam retainer bolts. If you used the long ones, you may have clearance problems with the cam lobe and the bolt!!!!!

The proper side bolts should have orange sealant on the shoulder of the bolt to seal against oil leaks, thread length is close to 1 inch.

i'm aware of this issue. the block was bought threw ebay along with the caps already on the block with the incorrect bolts in it when i recieved it. also a box of about 150 other bolts. i was just double checking to make sure i'm not going crazy. i used teflon sealer on the heads of all the bolts and torqued to 19ft lbs. thanks for the help guys!!!
